Reduce stress, promote muscle relaxation and increase overall sense of wellbeing with the ancient art of massage. I offer many specialized techniques to promote a more balanced body, as this is the best way to address the body's many needs. Whether you are seeking deep tissue massage or simple relaxation, each massage is individualized for you.
LDM is a form of gentle massage that encourages movement of free fluid out of the body. Our lymph system transports fluid, waste and immune cells through the body in a network that's similar to our vascular system. Light manual pressure encourages uptake of free fluid by the lymph nodes. Lymphatic ducts return this free fluid into the blood stream where it eventually becomes filtered out by our kidneys. Other ways our body can move lymph fluid is through body movement like, bouncing, tapping and stretching, deep breathing or by gravity. LDM is great for swelling in a specific area, sinus congestion, facial puffiness and also to boost the immune system.
Fascia is the weblike substance that envelopes every tissue in the body, particularly muscles and tendons. Scar tissue and adhesions in fascia cause imbalances in posture, restrictions in muscle function and limited range of motion. Massage can help release the fascia and relieve muscle pain .
A trigger point is an ischemic nodule found in a tight muscle that refers pain in a predictable pattern. Massage is used to release trigger points and the pain they cause. Muscle injuries such as strains caused by whiplash or overuse are common culprits for trigger points.
